IMHO there is only ONE THING that makes the US great and that is that if a body busts their butts and doesn't give up (or die in the process) they have the ability to prosper regardless of who they were where they came from or who they are when they land here. <--- UNDENIABLE FACT.
I dunno if there are other countries where this is true - Canada, Germany, Japan... dunno I don't live in those places nor do I know people well enough from *everyplace* else on the planet.
Aside from that, the lies that most people who have been born here have been led to believe (IMHO) actually LIMIT THEM - which may be a large part about why "foreigners" come here and succeed in a seemingly disproportionate number to those who are born here.

yeah i think i agree with that...seems they immigrants who move here are hungrier and more willing to sacrifice luxury to better themselves/their families/and their futures...as opposed to the lazy entitlement crowd of locally born peeps

seems like that is happening now, the dems vast power and popularity appears to be waning.
a rep congress and dem pres (or vice versa) really appears to this laymen the best form of government balance

Back when y'all were still swinging high on Bushie's nuts and the GOP domination of the house and senate, I told y'all the pendulum would swing back to the left. Now look at all the conservatives. Couple years ago it was "unamerican" to boistorously protest a useless war that gave us nothing and cost us everything. Now it's "OK" to childishly protest a healthcare bill in which we desperately need a firm reasonable and logical opposition voice too so that we can discern the pros and cons. What conservatives are doing now is shooting themselves in the foot. Talk of "death panels" is a complete intellectual turn off and makes the normal and regular people of the country roll their eyes. There's plenty about this healthcare bill that needs to be fleshed out in an intellectual manner, which means ridiculous infants need not apply to the opposition voice. I want to hear a reasonable and rational debate. Ironically the only place I"m hearing that is from within the god damn democratic party. How fucking far the republican party has fallen is staggering.

Can't say I'm happy with either party, honestly. I don't really have any better solutions...but I know it can be done better.

God, now I hear today good ole Glen Beck is trying to turn this into "Obama's reperation" bid......forgetting the fact that there are millions upon millions of poor white people that don't have health insurance either. This is not what we need. This is why I can't ever vote republican ever again because of people like Beck who seem to be the totality of the party. I dream of a "real" republican getting infront of a camera and in these words saying "all of you (meaning Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity etc.)......shut your fucking cunt mouf's". It's never going to happen because the republican party is completely destroyed. They've lost the intellectual base and now reside completely with the uneducated and easily manipulated morons that propagate the midway. It must be really hard for men like George Will to watch what's become of it. How does a hystrionic narcissistic little debutante like Sarah Palin achieve such a high position of regard in a political party is mystifying. Every week she say's something dumber, and every week she lowers the party just a little bit more. All of you should just concede that until a 3rd party becomes viable, it's going to be Dem's all the way for the foreseeable future. I'd like to see Ron P. start his own party.....now he could be a serious counterweight to the dems'.

direct some of your hate towards your masters (teehee), plenty of woman to bash on in congress...meanwhile, i think the general opinion will drift away from extremists like yourself and more towards the middle where the rational people like to get down
