Seafood

How come I hardly ever see seafood in the diets posted. Except for salmon and tuna. Is there a reason?

Shrimp, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, etc...

Maybe I hang out underwater too much. :jarswim:

I hate all fish and it takes a lot of shrimp to get the right amount of protein, without a yummy sauce or side, I'm usually gagging by the time I'm done.'

I'll throw in a few here and there.

Really? I love fresh rock shrimp in Florida.

1 cup is 30 grams of protein. I can eat that in no time. Just grill it and throw it over a little rice.

I will find the bag I got next time I go to the store. This wasn't with rice, it was a pure protein night meal and the amount was absurd. It was weighed on a scale, not by a measuring cup. I was testing something called ID diet at the time for a friend. I was trying to swallow them whole by the end, then I just gave up.

Now shrimp with other forms of food or flavor are great, but I've only ordered them at restaurants since that disaster.

Are you talking about frozen shrimp in a bag? That does sound yuck!

Fresh seafood is great. Grilled, it will literally melt in your mouth.

I looked on FitDay.com and 1 cup of shrimp is 35 grams of protein.

I'm not sure about scallops and other fish.

Stone Crabs:):p

Okay, now I'm looking at this. I've always wondered, but was too afraid to ask...Catfish? Bad or good?

I love catfish, scrod, clams, and oysters. Do not like salmon or tuna steak:( Can not have scallops(allergic unfortunately), shrimp, lobster, or crab...sucks big time:mad:

Anything wrong with the seafood I do like? As far as not good for ya?

Starfish you've read my list! It has fin fish & shellfish are all over it! I'll go with spatts on this one most people don't want to spend the extra money to eat it.

Or if you aren't a good cook it could turn out like crap it's easy to over cook fish of any type. :xeye:

Also it can leave an unpleasant aroma if you cook it in the house. :worried:

I made some of my best gains on a steady diet of fresh haddock. Sadly, as I guy, I have to eat a lot and sometimes that's too much fish...

I live on the water and there is a tide pool in front of the house where lobsters get stuck as the tide washes out....just thought I would brag a little :p

Cool !!!!!!!!

hey starfish, I was going to ask the same thing...

I eat alot of fish and shrimp...

I don't eat red meat and its a nice change from chicken/turkey.

my fav thing - steamed shrimp and mixed veggies from the chinese...add a little balsamic vinegar..mmmmmm

mmmmmmm...... seafood........

it's EXPENSIVE though. And this is a city where trawlers dock daily. Plus you need to go to a fishmonger's to get the good stuff because - wait for it - scottish people don't eat much fish and so the supermarket doesn't carry anything other than farmed salmon (yuck!), cod and prawns. Although those last two are tasty, mmmmm.

Iceland (the store, not the country) carry frozen fillets of many types of fish though..... there's some in my freezer right now..... ideas for dinner.....

I eat tuna every day too, although tinned tuna doesn't really count as fish in my book....

Salmon..not only is the stuff great and dead simple to cook (I just fry it up in a very little olive oil or bake it (about as hard as cooking a hamburger or a meatloaf) but all the fish oils are soooo good for what's likely to ail you, especially if you're on a BB diet -- or at least that's what I've read.
