Screwed my Back...Now what? VETS?

I was doing an intense back workout last night and I was almost done...Just finishing off with Shrugs. Well, on my last set I lifted the barbell and on the 1st shrug it felt like someone had jammed a knife into my back about half way up just on the left side of my spine. I basically dropped the bar it hurt so much. I'm not sure if this is a strain or a tear or what? When I sat down on the bench I could barely straighten my back and sit up straight. Even still when I move around I get these sharp pains! I am right in the middle of a Sust/Deca cycle too (4th week). Will this go away soon? Has anyone had anything like this happen? Will the Test/Deca help or hurt the recovery? Should I go off the gear?

Ps. Is it bad to take muscle relaxers and anti-inflamitorys while on gear?
 
I've done the same thing to my back a couple of times, it goes away in about 3 days, hurts like hell, especialy in morning. I don't know if it's a pinched nerve or a muscle thing. It sucks though, good luck!!!!
 
lower/mid back strain = severity depends on loss of range of motion, swelling, heat, bruising, pain. Give it a two days before you workout again (i bet you actually grow on these days off as it gives your body time recuperate). Ice it today and half way through tomorrow. Then tomorrow night alternate ice/heat pad. (ice+heat = apply 15-20 minutes every 4-6 hrs). Take 800mg motrin(advil) every 6 hours on full stomach. 3 days from now when you start working out again, only do exercises that don't put ANY strain on back AND include a few light back stretches before/after w/o. after 3 days of working out go ahead and begin working things that include back AS LONG AS IT NO LONGER HURTS. you should be fine.
 
if you can get muscle relaxers (flexeril) go ahead and take them as well - you can take these and the NSAIDS on gear. no problem.
 
Thanks for the replys guys! It's actually starting to feel a "little" bit better today!! Sure hope this dissapears FAST! I hate not being able to work out! I actually took the day off yesturday and just stayed in bed. I was so depressed. Anyways, thanks for the support!

ps. Anyone else have similar experience? Any tricks to a speedy recovery?
 
i fucked my back up wake boarding and couldnt lift due to the injury so i got acupuncture. I only missed a week and a half and it was fucked up bad.
 
I don't know about acupuncture??? I'm pretty sceptical about that one? Anyone else...
Acutally it's starting to feel much better. Maybe I'll only be off for a week? :confused:

you may want to go your DR and ask for some muscle relaxers...if he doesn;t want to give you the flexeril(it has narcotics in it) ask him for Robaxin...no narcotics ,,,won't make you want to sleep...and works rather well.....PS If you ever go to Mexico...I highly recommend that you buy 3-4 bottles...just for emergencies....My mom picks them up for me 1-2 a year.....and No I don't ask her to mule over some gear for me.....though it would probably work ....her being 68 years old ....who would suspect....hmmmm maybe I will talk to her:angel:
