If this site is popular enough and I get some mod involved I'll make it look much better and add all the possible searches (geographic locations, names, companies, etc.).

Yes this is also under the conterfit discussion board...but I thought I'd post it here too since more traffic comes through here.

thanks for the compliments guys...I'm working on version 2 now...

...there's still one major problem that will face the site though:
How will it be updated?

I can setup an Admin console type page that allows someone to add or delete people/companies/websites/emails from the database. However, I'm obviously not a vet of this site (or any other site for that matter)...I don't know WHO I should talk to or give access to that could unbiasly add or delete people as needed. I guess if worse comes to worse, I can just check for updates every so often...but it would be better if a person who actually decides if someone is a scammer or not would help with the site...or notify me when more people are added to the elite lists at least.

Anyone have ideas on what direction I should go? Who I should talk with?

There is a board that has a section for Mods from other boards (other than the board it is attached to) and includes many (i believe some of the Mod Elite team are there as well if i recall) where many things are discussed. IMHO this would be a perfect medium for such decisions

I'm gonna play devils advocate here and paranoid so bear with me. What if, say people start using this to type in all sorts of sources who may in fact be legit. Now what if a agency such as oh the DEA were to make a site for this sole purpose then log all names typed in? I'm not saying your DEA or anything so please don't take it that way but in this age of electronic tracking, it's certainly possible

How current is this information in your database. I typed in some well-known scammers and they didn't show up when I searched. You should also includes URL's to web sites that are scammers.

Juice Authority, I just took the email addresses I found in the 4 pages of scammers in the counterfit forum. You can double check me if you want...and if I'm missing anyone from the elite list let me know...I'll fix it.

I will probably have options to search for website and company done by the end of this week...

...and about the whole paranoia thing...if you're worried about being tracked I wouldn't go anywhere online...

...But I can promise you I'm not in law enforcement or related to it in any way...and I won't track who comes to the site. Read some of my posts...maybe that will convince you if you're worried.

...UPDATE...
I have 3 new search sections completed.
-Companies
-Individual Names (and board names)
-Websites

These new sections will be uploaded by 6:00 CST (9/10/02)

It looks like the site has been pretty popular...about 150 hits in it's first 2 days...and only being advertised here. This being the case, after I get all the searching code and database details ironed out, I'll make the site look much better (custom graphics, etc.)

I was thinking about maybe adding a section to the site that allows people to rate individual gear or stacks of gear...and suppliments too.
