Scalp therapy

Been using propecia, polysorbate80 and Nizoral 2% for a while now. Thought I would throw in some 5% Rogaine. Since I started using the Rogaine, my scalp is itchy and flaky. The Nizoral does not seem to help this BTW. What are some solutions other than the obvious of just discontinuing the Rogaine? I feel like I need all the hairloss prevention I can get. Anybody else with similar problems?

Somethings you could try would be - try the 2% minoxidil. But if it is the alcohol causing the problem then this won't help.

There is a product called folligen. It has copper peptides in it. They have a aqueous solution that can be sprayed on to the scalp. This has been reported to help with irration caused by minoxidil.

Another possibility would be to apply emu oil onto the scalp. This is also reported to help with inflammation. Although I would suspect that this may be messy.

Rogaine will do that. It works, though.

salicylic shampoo like T/sal
zinc shampoo like head & shoulders
coal tar shampoo like T-Gel

Generics of all 3 are cheaper and can be found at the drug store for less

Haven't tried Emu oil. Killing a bird for oil for my hair/vanity doesn't seem right...

Squalane works OK for me. Can pick this up @ skinbio, where you can also get folligen. I haven't noticed that the folligen helps with the flakiness, though, but my hair is growing quite well on it

Brushing your hair a lot will help get the flakes out.

Singleton and buckwheat1 are right bro, i had the same problem folligen helped out with all those symptoms you get. and how does polysorbate 80 work on you, any good? i got a big bottle of it but didnt use it yet.

I started using polysorbate 80 with folligen and another liquid can't remember the name now.. Then I ran out of the other stuff and it took a long time with last orders etc... cutting a long story short, I then only used polys...80, and now use it every night and leave it on all night and wash it off every morning with Nizoral 2%, my hair has stopped shedding and I have regrowth, some dark but lots of blonde hairs that should turn darker with time. I will never stop using polys 80, it has made my hair very thick and stopped all flaking I had with using all other products, nice and cheap and can be bulk ordered.... just my 2 cents worth........
