there is no garantee it will help for your hair

if you are prone to hairloss, it will not help you.
It will not help either with certain roids, like Winny.
But it should be taken on every cycle, as a good liver protector like L-reduced Glutathion (this rocks).

Saw Palmetto is great for the kidneys and prostate.
There are different hair protectors you can use. I myself use Aminexil.

I have read some where that Saw Pal reduces the amount of DHT is your body. The is why men with enlarged prostrates take it. It reduces the amount of DHT in the body and there fore causes your prostrate to return to close to normal size. So if the hair lose is being caused by large amounts of DHT in the scalp it should help.

The downside is Saw Palmetto reduces androgenic receptor sites, but it has an anti-estrogenic effect.

SP can inhibit DHT, which means it can reduce AGA (androgenetic alopecia) hair loss. Extracts of SP interfere with the metabolism of DHT and stop the action of 5 alpha-reductase enzymes.

Other DHT inhibitors are, Pygeum, Green Tea, He Shou Wu and silica.

actually, I don?Lt think saw palmetto reduces prostate size, does it? I thought it relaxed the ureters, so that the bladder could be more completely emptied. Am I wrong?

At 160mg twice a day, SP does help protect against prostrate enlargement and AGA hairloss.
