Well, I started taking sam-e @ 400mg/ed. I must say that I believe it does enhance my mood somewhat.. I have had a little more zest lately. I read on another board to take 1.2 grams /ed, I may up the dosage just to see how it feels, kind of expensive though.

What exactly is it marketed for? mood swings, or joint pain??

As far as mood goes, it seems to work for some and not so well for others. The irony is that it costs as much as the average anti-depressant medication, which is more predictably effective with most patients.

You definitely have to pay attention to the quality; some is far better than others. Also, it should be taken with TMG, which enhances its effect considerably.

What is TMG? Its probalby something common that I'm not familiar with the abbriveation for.
