Salvation Army bell ringers...

Night Fly

I agree...but I think they are volunteers. I usually don't carry cash with me and I feel bad for walking by them and not donating anything. It's almost like they get mad when people do that....maybe I'm just paranoid, though...who knows!

lol, I think the same way... I sometimes feel bad if I pass a homeless person, who looks like the honestly, really need the money, and I don't have anything.

You never know what a homeless dude spends his money on.

Case in point: I'm in downtown Atlanta for a community service project last Sat, and me and a group of friends walk up to McDonalds. I see a ragged looking homeless person with a cup standing by the door asking for money. I'm already reaching in my pocket for the food, so I figure what the hell, and I give him a dollar and a friend gives him some change. We get our food and sit down to eat and what do I see? The homeless man we gave money to and a friend of his (I presume) smoking a new pack of cigs. I thought what the hell, maybe it brightened his day, but I wish he would have spent it on something important.

I saw one last Wednesday that seemed like he was on some meth.

The girl that was there today didn't seem quite so hyper. I gave her an apple on the way out.
