Its wierd I mean I would never cause, clearly its rude and none of your business but why is this such a touchy subject?? What really is the big secret as to whether your earning 50 or a 100??

To me, it's a personal thing. It would be like someone asking, "Hey gymtime, how's the herpes?" Anyone other than your accountant who asks you how much money you make is asking for one reason, to compare your salary to theirs. There's no reason for anyone to know that and if they ask, they're just sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong.
