Sad, sad story.

We have a friend that has a daughter the same age as our daughter. They attended the same private school and quickly became friends. We left the private school last year after much soul searching and decided to enroll her in public school. The friend and her husband were real involved with the private school. They were always committing their time to help out where ever and whenever possible. He is a fireman and she is a hairstylist and nail technician with her own brand new shop. This past Tuesday was her birthday and all she wanted was a breast reduction surgery and a tummy tuck. Her husband had tried to discourage her from having it but she had to have it. This past Monday she had the surgery and everything went well. She felt good and was not having any complications. This morning she did not wake up. Evidently, she had a blood cot enter her heart or lungs and killed her instantly during her sleep. What a sad, sad day this has turned out to be.

Wow. That is really awful and tragic. I'm so sorry to hear that. Their family is in my thoughts and prayers. :(

:(

Oh God. The ONLY thing that scares me about death is that my son would have to live, for the rest of his life, with the pain of not having a mother.

I pray that her husband is comforted and is able to, eventually, come to some peace about the circumstances around her passing.

It's almost too much to bear thinking about that little girl being without her mother....no words...so sorry....

That is one of my biggest fears also! She was only 34 years old. Her daughter is rising 5th grader as of today(last day of school today). It's really a shame that this had to happen. My oldest daughter was standing right next to me when we heard the news. She had huge tears streaming down her face. The lady was always doing things for the kids in that class. She would have all of the girls in their class come to her shop and all of them would get make-overs and they really enjoyed that! My daughter just had her nails done by her about three weeks ago. She is really upset!

Thanks everybody for your concern.

Sorry to hear about this...They sound like wonderful people. This should've never happened. :( Just goes to show no one should ever take any kind of surgery lightly. Anyone who considers aesthetic surgery should hear about stories like this....

HumoreMe... I lost two fiancees and a wife to tragedy all before the age of 40... and yesterday I went to the post office to send a couple toy airplanes to a 4 year old boy who has just been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer.

Be thankful for the time you have with people. They can be gone in a breath.

Your friend's family, and especially her daughter, will be in my prayers.

That is horrible! My heart goes out to you! The 4 year old is a very sad case indeed. We should be thankful for the time we have here and make the most of it!

Thanks for your concern.

PolarPixie.....I agree with you also. No surgery should ever be taken lightly. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks gym, ffos, beastboy for your contribution.

Thank you to everybody else for their response on this thread. It really means a lot. Your prayers for them are appreciated and comforting.

This story is extremely shocking and sad. I'm seriously upset over this. It's must be terrible torment to have your wife die from an elective surgery. I know i'd always blame myself...

Oh wow HumorMe.

Sad day brother.

I didn't read any of the replies to this thread... as soon as I read your post, I just had to say that it is terribly sad what happened... and I hope only the best for her husband and all others involved... you included of course my friend.

It must be Boach. I know I would have a hard time accepting it. The strange part is that her husband tried to discourage her from having the procedure. Hindsight is 20/20. The funeral is this Sunday and I am going to be out of town until Monday evening. Damn!:(

Thanks Mysterio, Dr. RobertBanner, Boach, Crazier, supernav and DOT. Your words are appreciated.

I don't know if malpractive would fit with the circumstances surrounding this case. I don't know if a blood clot is something that could be avoided. I think it was just an unfortunate thing that happened. I'll have to wait until the final word from the autopsy report is given.

Thanks again everybody!

Holy shit bro!! Not sure how I would handle that? My thoughts are with you and condolences to HumorMe

That is so sad. To die from that cause.

The Husband has my sympathy for his loss of a loved one, and you have it too HumorMe for losing a friend.
