Gentlemen,

the only cure is graduation, obtaining a real job, and raising a family

No cure is needed----the individual is all here----FAMILY NOT NEEDED....

Third year law student also, soon to graduate...

True.

It serves the purpose of exacting a toll for the suffering caused to someone by a freak. It makes you feel better, it gives you satisfaction.

Is it right or wrong? That is a moral question that cannot be answered.

3000 years ago in Rome, there would not even be an alternative.

Perhaps we could learn a thing or two from the history of Ancient Rome. They lasted longer than any other civilization.

executing her simply will solve making sure she is not longer on this plannet to burden our resources, and risk possibly causing harm to anyone else.

insane or not, something of this porportion deserves death, it doesn't have to be torture, though I would say it's ok, but I do not feel she deserves to live.

My reasons for thinking as such, If she was on medication for mental problems, thats fine, it happens to nice people, but was she on her medication when this happened? 2nd if she was having issues and her medication seemed ineffective why wasn't she receiving more help. In some ways I can also see to pointing blame on the husband for not taking every precaution to make sure she was a fit mother. 3 where was her Dr. during this time. I have a hard time believing something like this couldn't have been spotted even if just a possiblity.... Even if she just didn't take her medication for 1 day surely signs of instability were there.

this is a lose-lose situation. Even if she does live I give her 5 years max before she kills herself. She will never be able to live knowing what she did.

that is very likely

when i found out what happened i was very angry, namely at her. i thought to my self, at least she's in texas, let her fry. but the more i think about it, the more i think she will be put away for life. she was mentally insane, she had to be to kill her five children like that. but your laws do state that a mentally ill person should not be put to death. that law was written for a reason. so isnt the issue whether you want that law changed rather than just in this case. the drugs she had been prescribed would merely stop her brain producing certain chemicals that had been shown tyo cause depression, or perk her up a bit, the side effects probably would have been worse, or they may have not worked. if she was insane, what she was doing may have been the most rational act to her, no matter how abhorrent to everybody else. i dunno why im even writing this but what she did kinda hit home when i was on the way to the gym.

I'm not sure what meds she was on, or exactly how it would have affected her brain. Texas has executed mentally ill people before. This is just a sad story allaround....the husband/father is going to have nothing left when this is all said and done. I can only hope she is able to find some sort of peace before she dies

the sad thing is if he did suspect that his wife might do somethin like thyat, this will plague his mind for the rest of his life....

She's going to be given a sentence of death

She admitted in an interview to the Dallas morning news that she has thought about doing this for months...She will surely die now unless a judge saves her
