to be fair, you have said so yourself (i think) that you exaggerate yoru opinions to promote discussion.
my main reason for asking was because of what you said in my may1010 thread. i didn't know if you wanted may banned for some valid reason, or because you didn't like him, or because you were trying to rock the boat to get a reaction.
i can show you where to get the cliff notes for war & peace on the internet.

no i expect him to be his usual honest straightforward self. i only used the word 'troll' as that is the definition. same as 'moron' is a definition for someone with an IQ between 40 & 60. it is a derogatory term, but that is the term. i explained in my post that deriding ryan wasn't my intention. if i wanted to attack someone i would. i just don't know if he really believes everything he writes, some of it, or what.
seeing how he wants may banned (as i said, if this were an attack, it would sound totally different) i don't know if that was because he felt may1010 deserved to be banned or just because he wanted to get a reaction for saying so.

WEll asking someone if he is a troll is derogatory and can only mean to incite trouble, however you wish to qualify it. It's certainly reasonable to ask if he enjoys the role of provocateur. And if your real intention is to explore his feelings about May, just ask directly without the insult.
Anyway, I thought May was already banned. The truth is that you can't really ban anyone from a free site. You can make them feel unwelcome, but you can't truly ban them.
