do the doctors prescribe the same kind everywhere??? Or does it vary??,, just wondering . my family doctor and I have been talking about the possibility of me starting HGH soon..
It all depends on the Dr. and the type thats available at the pharmacy. Getting a script for HGH is about 10 times harder than a script for test. Insurance companies are also 10 times mor likely to pay for test rather than HGH as well. Hope it works out for ya though, keep us informed.
First of all, it has to be an endocronologist prescribing the medication. Secondly, you will have to get it from a specialty pharmacy, regular pharmacies do NOT carry Humatrope for example. Also, depending on your insurance, the actual pharmacy that you can obtain the Humatrope from will have to be with your insurance. Lets also not forget Prior Authorizations, as most insurance companies will put this obsticle in your way in hopes that your doctor does not take the time to fill the PA forms out, or that they will lose them, and even better, forget about them. This is why you, the patient, play such a large role in making sure that your doctor submits these PA forms correctly and promptly, or you will have to choose between paying full cash price (Although there are some Humatrope assistance programs out there in which the Humatrope is FREE), or not getting it at all.
