Road Rage.

I was driving through town at about 2am this morning. As I pulled up to a red light my side mirror swiped past the side mirror of a parked car. I thought "opps", but though nothing further of it.

The next thing I know there is this loud crash as this absolutely psycho guy kicks the side of my car then pulls my driver door open and starts abusing me. This guy wasn't rational, he was red in the face and going nuts!

He started screaming "don't hit another car and just drive off, etc. etc." as well as a few other abusive remarks. I asked him "well did you suffer any damage?". He just ignored me and kept screaming. Is it just me or was his behaviour unjustisfied?

The car was parked, completely dark. I had no idea there was anyone in there. If there had been I may have stopped and apologised. It wasn't the sort of incident that would cause damage. The two mirrors just sprung back into place again. Maybe if my mirror was hanging off the side of my car I would have stopped and checked to see if I had damaged his.

I also think it was rather dangerous of him to behave that way. Anyone with a different temperament than myself, having someone kicking the side of their car, pulling open their driver door and behaving as threateningly as that, probably would have decked the guy.

Surely in such a situation, if you were pissed off you might knock on someone's car window and tell them off, but not behave like that.

Am I being unreasonable? Do other people think his reaction was justified? I don't, but maybe I am wrong.

It was 2am, there was no one around to apologise to (I thought), and it wasn't the sort of thing that would cause damage.

what a moron that guy was. if he was truly concerned he could have called the police with you license plates. How was he to know you weren't some kind of mainiac or if you had a weapon of some sort.

the second he opened your door, that gave you full right to DEFEND yourself with a figure four leg lock... fuck that guy, he obviously had no respect for your opinion, or your car. you should have kicked his ass.

LOL, lucky I don't suffer from roid rage. I think the guy put himself into a dangerous situation. I think many other guys would have decked him, especially after kicking the side of my car so hard like that. When I hit his car that was an accident. Him bashing my car and threatening me was intentional. His behaviour was far worse. If he had come up to me and been really polite i'd probably be suffering from incurable guilt right now. Instead, because he was such an unstable asshole I couldn't care less.

Now, you may have accidetally clipped his car, but he purposely kicked yours. The second he opened my car door, I would beat him into a bloody pulp and pissed on his carcass. Then take him to court for the damages his kick caused.

Yes, he was behaving unjustified. Roid rage doesn't exist... it is a figment of the imagination brewed up by the media to make people who juice look like freeks. Sure, I've lost my temper many of times... but I've always had the rationality to bring myself back down... people who "lose it" on juice are just hotheads and would react the same way whether on juice or not.
