Ridiculous forearms...

Do you think straps hamper forearm growth at all? I use straps out of habit but I'll stop if my forearms can get even bigger-please respond
 
I don't use straps much. But I do use gloves all the times. I don't have any problems w/ my forearms, but I do isolation work on them.
 
i definitely think straps hinder growth, my foremarms used to suck, then i quit the straps, and started doing wrist curls and reverse grip curls
 
I'm not sure if it "hampers forearm growth", but obviously if you don't use them, your forearms are working harder. The way I see it is it's kind of like a trade off. If you use straps you can go heavier, working your other muscles harder, but if you don't use straps your forearms might get a better pump, but you probably won't be able to go as heavy. I would say as long as you do forearm exercises, keep on using the straps.

Without straps you are forced to keep you forearms flexed constantly and when you go heavy they are contracted tightly. You don't get that kind of pump with straps cause you can loosen your grip.
 
Here's my problem-I'm taking fina and my pumps are fucking cccccccrazy, I did back today and my forearms were so pumped I could barely stand it-kinda like it though

I want big forearms. Seems like theyre pretty much genetics though.

mine tap dance, but they only due so in my peripheral vision, then when I look at them, they just lay on the table like they just did't tap dance......

Don't use straps unless it is a must, like for shrugs. Your forearms give out quicker, so it is a must on this exercise. For others I think it is not needed. You use more weight but u take away from what is really lifting the weight.So on shrugs: USE em, Others: SKIP EM
Sorry also use them for chin ups to failure.

I never use straps, and my forearms are pretty huge. people call me popeye. This is from all-natural training too. Huge forearms kick ass. I do deadlifts with 400+ pounds(and climbing) with no problem. I'd recommend not using straps until you get to a heavy weight that forces you to.

I use wrist wraps, and isolate my forearms 2 x a month, used to forearms weekly, but they got rediculous, so I dont think wraps hinder growth, dont know about straps.
