RICKSON GRACIE´S BLUE BELT REQUIREMENTS 1. Standup (defense) a) forearm block and side clinch vs hooks b) slap block and go behind into rear waist hold vs straight punches c) front kick defense d) round kick defense e) ”base out” (lower waist) vs throws 2. Standup (offense) a) Hip throw b) Leg hook takedown c) Rear lifting throw d) Rear waist hold and drop with leg block 3. Mount (defense) a) UPA b) Elbow escape 4. Mount (offense) a) maintain position (lift hand vs knee push, push vs waist push, snake vs arm circle) b) Americana c) Straight Arm Bar d) Cross Choke 5. Guard (defense) a) Open guard strategy b) Scissor sweep c) Kick knee sweep 6. Guard (offense) a) Triangle Choke b) Guillotine Choke c) Straight Arm Bar d) Kimura e) Cross Choke 7. In the guard a) Maintain balance b) Arm protection c) Neck protection d) Guillotine defense (bounce) e) Knee in butt and pass under f) Break with elbow and pass over 8. I had to describe each minute detail of the move as I was doing it. In essence I had to teach Marcio Simas(the black belt who gave me my test) how to do each move. That was back in 1997 though, it may be less detailed now.
 
I hope not
I think tough testing is important
I'd rather be the Blue Belt that tested five times before he got it then the Blue Belt that screwed up half of the material and still got it
