rice crackers post workout??

I live in Norway (of all places), and train at a pretty hardcore gym here (by Scandi standards, lol), anyway most of the doods are scarffing down rice crackers post workout like no tomorrow...strange seeing as there are 3 pros train there and they are doing the same thing (not to mention baby food (wtf))

anyway, what is the logic behind this? Isn't it better to get your high glycemic carbs from sometime like maltodextrin or something similar...? Strange that these 1980's trends are still persisting.

Any logic to this?
