Reusing Water Bottles?...think twice!

How do you know if you have PET plastic bottle? Turn your bottle over and look for the number 1 in a triangle. This number indicates the type of plastic used. A #4 or higher is considered safe.

PET plastic, which is used for commercial convenience water bottles such as Walmart water bottle or Aquafina water bottles or any bottle with a number 1 on the bottom.

All of these bottles are designed only for one use. If they are used multiple times or left in extreme hot or cold temperature the plastic begins to break down and leak into your drinking water. Creating a plastic tase ad leaving bacteria in your water bottle, YUCK!

But how many times have we purchased Evian, or even walmart water bottle and re-used it over and over again? Stop re-using them! It is not safe for you!

Only reusable water bottles that have a number four or seven on the bottom of the water bottle. This prevents you from ingesting any toxins or bacteria. A much safer choice for you and your family!

i bring 4-5 bottles of deer park to work every day, end of the day 4-5 empty ones in my trash can...get about 3 cases of it from costco every 2 wks...

I knew this too and I constantly change my bottles of water after getting sick one day from drinking stale water from a bottle which sat in my car for a couple of days.

Little bacteria is good for you as long as it isn't toxic and shit (e coli and fecal streptococci).

well Im too lazy to refill my water bottles, I use a real water bottle for that or my MEGATHERMOS 64 oz from 7-11, folks that thing is amazing, keeps ice-cold beverage all day long at work. One pack of mountain raspberry sugar-free koolaid with some ice and water. Fresh refreshing drink anytime of the day. No more refrigerators, no more looking for something to drink. Just reach over to your 7-11 megathermos, best invention since the Ronco Showtime Rotisserie.

I reuse them sometimes, but at desperate moments when I need immediate hydration, I usually just stick my head under the faucet, and get the job done...so I guess it's just as bad if not worse.

Thanks for the tip though. At $6.00 a case, I guess there is no real reason to re-use them.
