return to post or to forum

Whenever I post a reply I get returned either to the post or to the forum. There seems no way to predict where I will be returned to. Why the inconsistency? What gives?

I always get returned to the forum which sucks, IMO. I always open each thread in a new window by habit. That way I can refresh that page when someone responds. Now, all I have is a bunch of damn windows open to the same forum. Sucks!

Agreed. Doesn't make sense to return someone to the forum. oh well. =(
