Retention of Zoloft?

I had been taking Zoloft 150mg for ~16 months. I tapered off for 6 weeks and have not taken any for 6 days. I am experiencing symptoms similar to vertigo and mood swings. My physician has informed me that it will take about 3 weeks for my body to clear the Zoloft and that I will have these withdrawal(?) symptoms for at least that long.

Is this info correct? Any other info and/or feedback is greatly appreciated!

Zoloft's half-life is 26 hours. It generally takes 5 half-lives to clear 97% of the drug out of your system. 100% -> 50% -> 25% -> 12.5% -> 6.25% -> 3.125%.

Given that it's 26 hours, 5 half-lives would be 130 hours, or 5 days.

So, the Zoloft should be out of your system.

Thank you. I had thought that Zoloft had a shorter half-life than what I was told. The troublesome vertigo and mood swings have dissapated.
