resting problems

Maks

:worried: Since December my working times have changed again, and im on night shifts around 5-10 times per month, for a year. Additional to the usual 24h shifts 4-6 times a month.
Last time i had to do this it nearly threw me off weight lifting completely, i lost a lot of my gains and consequently mcu of the motivation to keep on going.

I know that i can lift acceptable after 30 hours without sleep (after the 24 hour shifts), IF i could sleep the days before properly and IF i got a good meal before training. Its really the night shifts in a row that kill me. After 5 nights im really dead after one heavy set. And, curiously, i cant sleep after the exercise, my body needs a few hours to cool down before i can sleep.

So ... is there an approved opinion for people like me with unregular resting times ? I mean, apart from "get a different job" ? (wich is no option, really)

the last few years i did the usual gym stuff ... 2 day split 3-4 times a week ... but now after i read these excellent forums i will try a 5x5 SF or DF routine ... and im really excited about it and in good hope that i can keep enough motivation to do it ...

Any advice ?
