Rescued 3 baby squirrels

They must have climbed down from the nest in the tree in our background. I kept hearing this squeeking sound which I knew was a squirrel that probably fell from the high winds but then I went out there. Found one then all of a sudden another came climbing down the tree and then I found another one huddled in the corner of the fence. We have them in a cardboard box after I dried them off and the SPCA said to give them soggy oatmeal. Once the winds die down, I'm gonna see if the parents are still out there and then let them go. If the parents reject them, the lady said we can call a rehab clinic that takes in baby animals....They are cute little things

There used to be a feral cat in the woods behind my parents' house, I saw it catch rabbits a few times.

no offense to the sqqurrell fans, but the are def. rats with tails. i think rats have little hands as well.

They climb up the side of my brick building, and cavort on top of my window-unit air conditioner. I have watched this cavorting from mere inches away, separated only by a pane of glass. I have seen squirrel nipples, and squirrel nuts from this vantage point.

If I ever get this roll of film developed, I may have pictures of the cavorting squirrels. I named one of them Blaster.

Yeah, keep them if you can. They make great pets. We rescued three baby squirrels when I was a wee kiddo. They fell out of a wren house and the parents rejected them. One died shortly after from the fall, but the other two lived pretty healthy lives. Omar and Sprocket were awesome little pets. We have them paper trained and everything. They would climb up and down and curtains and shit and play with our cats. We let them go once they were able to fend for themselves. Sprocket used to always come back to the house and wait on the porch for us. It was cool as hell.

If you have handled them then forget about the momma claiming them as human scent will cover their bodies,and no you can't wash it off!

Also the pet store has milk specially made for baby squirrels it has the ingredients thats in mothers milk.
Feed them thru either a dropper or use an empty bottle of viseine.

PS---Also as they get older look out they will chew right thru that cardboard box.

I hate that, they run out stop and look at ya then proceed to run left/turn right/left/right/left then bump!

If you have handled them then forget about the momma claiming them as human scent will cover their bodies,and no you can't wash it off!

Also the pet store has milk specially made for baby squirrels it has the ingredients thats in mothers milk.
Feed them thru either a dropper or use an empty bottle of viseine.

We tried letting them back out by the tree and they would run up the tree but eventually come back down and sit on the ground. I saw an adult squirell come near and one of the babies followed it...I got up after a couple minutes and couldn't find the adult or the baby. I even snuck into the neighbors backyard but couldn't find it which kinda upset met.

We ended up finding a lady who takes in injured and orphaned animals. She estimated that they were about 2 months old so they only have a couple more months until they are old enough to be let loose. As soon as we got home and let my dogs out, they started going after something and then I heard that familiar squeal...I ended up kicking my dogs out of the way and grabbed the one that I couldn't find. I called the lady and informed her so I took that one over there also. If I didn't have 3 dogs and 2 cats, I would have kept at least one but the way they go after squirrels, I didn't wanna take the chance.,.
