Requesting prayer for a good bro!

Friend of mine.. 21 years old was having chest pains.. went to the doc and was told he had an enlarged heart, also has liver damage. the docs say its from years of steroid abuse. he's been using basically nonstopped for 2-3 years and never cycled off the heavy androgens..... used anadrols, test, dbols throughout most of the year and now its caught up to him. :( keep him in your prayers!
 
I thought AS didn't have an effect on the heart in that kind of time frame. I'm sorry about your friend. We should all keep these things in mind. With regard to his liver, its an amazing organ, and if he stays off the gear and the booze, it can repair itself. Keep in mind that if you go back to using, it'll get worse quickly.
 
I hope your friend recovers soon, and thanks for posting this! Maybe it will make some of our younger members think twice before deciding mega-dosed hardcore cycles are the way to go.

At 21 guys think nothing can hurt them. Your friend's story shows otherwise.
 
Sorry to hear it bro , I guess it does'nt matter now but why do some bros choose to abuse insead of using it as a tool.
In anycase I will pray for him! What did the docs say about his
recovery?
 
A lot of times people predisposed to these conditions will have these problems earlier with steroid abuse. My thoughts and prayers go out to him. Hang in there.

Jaybuilt that was totally uncalled for. Go educate yourself about the danger's of steroid use before making stupid ass offensive comments like that.

Spunky very best of luck to your friend, I hope he recovers very soon. I had elevated liver values ten year's ago and you'd be amazed at how fast your liver can repair. As regards the enlarged heart it's a continual worry of mine.

i just wanna know why the fuck I would get on here and make up some total BS story about my friend?? what am i gonna get ouf of doing that? Your heart is a muscle my friend... working out and using steroids CAN make your heart grow...

To all of those who asked.. Im not sure what his liver values were, I only talked to him for about 3 minutes on the phone. He doesn't know much yet, he has to go back to the doc for more tests and such. Right now they just said if he keeps on using he will eventually kill himself.. But they told him to stop working out and stop using steroids basically. Basically his heart if over-working from what he told me. His dosages were very high on basically everything. He was known to take as many as 4 a50's a day on top of 1500-2000mg of test.. thats the highest i actually know that he's gone. But i think it was more the fact that he rarely took breaks.. he was on basically all the time....... its a sad story and i hope he has learned his lesson!
 
Spunky have your friend see a cardiologist an enlarged heart in a lifter and a diseased heart maybe two different things all together. Refer to "atheletes heart condition"
 
That's why I consider Echocardiography essential when you do your post cycle follow up...
Ventricular hipertrophy without heart disfunction is common with steroid usage( or even in power lifters that are natural), and may reverse after steroid cessation.Some people, however, develop cardiomyopathy and disfunction, with a big and weak heart and low ejection fractions. I hope this is not his case and he can recover fully.I also pray that he comes to sense about his health.

Rio 2001 often echos are way the hell off, often giving unrealistic low ef's. MUGA scans and stress tests are far more accurate.
 
I am sorry to hear this about your friend spunky.

Thank you for posting this. It reminds us all that our health, and not our looks, should be our top priority. Our health is truly the most precious thing we own.

Some things to remember...

-Take regular blood tests

-Keep the oral steroids intake to a minimum

-Cycle your steroid use

-Avoid taking very high dosages for a long period of time

I agree with you Bro. There is no need for people to be posting sh*t like that unless they have it right. Posts like that just scares the Sh*t out of everyone. I would even venture to say that there might have been some excessive alcohol & cocaine abuse with his gear usage. If the post is not total bs in the first place.


i agree but this guys post doesnt say what other contributing factors led to his enlarged heart there is not fucking way it is purely from androgen abuse
 
Hey I knew a bro at the gym I use to train at that had a enlarged heart, doc said the same thing steroid use, and this bro didn't use over 500 mgs of test ever, and he died about 3 years after doc told him in his late 30 s. I don't know any of his other medical history but he thought is was from juice, who knows

Sorry about your friend Spunky. This post should be a sticky, there are far too many kids on this board that think AS is no worse for you then a multivitamin.
 
I'm afraid a sticky would turn this into a debate on the health implcations of steroid use, and without firm medical knowledge alot of what could be said could prove both inaccurate and damaging.

jaybuilt: my friend rarely drinks and i know for a fact that he doesn't use any drugs other an AS. shut your goddamn mouth, u don't have a fuckin clue what u are talking about.
 
my thoughts are with your friend as well...
what kind of treatment is he going to for his heart problems if any?
 
That is truly sad to hear. I'll say a prayer for your friend tonight. Things like this worry me sometimes because i've done a few moderate cycles myself. Also I know a couple people that stay on insane amounts of gear year-round. Hope everything works out for him.

Bro, your friend is in my prayers and I hope any newbies learn from this. Steroids will fuck you up if you don't know what you are doing and don't take them correctly. Before you even think of doing your first cycle I would advise 3-4 days of research. Ask a lot of questions, thats what this board is for.

The dumb question is the one not asked.
 
im sure he appreciates your prayers.. i talked to him today and he is still having chest pains....... but he's still alive so thats good..
