Oh, FYI...it's a logical fallacy to assume someone supports the Sandanistas because they are critical of the Contras...I saw someone bring that up in a comment...of course the Sandanistas were brutal thugs but the CIA created and dispersed a manual promoting the preferential targeting of "soft targets" when fighting a superior military force....murdering civilians for political ends; Osama embraced the policy after the attacks on government/military targets didn't create the political confrotation he desired.

The CIA produced a manual for insurgency that promoted targeting what are called "soft targets." That means targeting civilians, the Contras murdered a lot of farmers and nuns... generals testified before congress about how this had changed the effectiveness of the insurgency for the better.
Barry's preacher would call this kind of foreign policy "chickens coming home to roost" and the CIA calls it "blowback." So, a few thousand dead innocent Americans is just a catch phrase for the repercussions of what politicians have done over the past 60 years.
