Recent border problems?

Last weekend someone on the board got busted at the border returning from TJ.

Have any of you heard anything else or had similar experiences in the past week?

I know it can happen anytime to anyone, I just think this guy was “narked” out and it was an isolated case. Not some major change in the way business is done in Mexico.

Obviously I’m planning a trip to Mexico and don’t want to give my gear to some government goof returning home.

I was in Nogales last weekend, and everything went fine. Except for the fact that I didn't find a Ttokkyo dealer, but I picked some other stuff up.....

This is where to find Ttokkyo in Nogales:
Veterinaria Quezada
Av. Obregon #1540-A
Nogales, Sonora.
Tel.- (631) 3-45-75

He's expensive though: Boldenon $70, Testanon $30----can't remember the rest...no T200, aratest $30. If you're buying a lot or vacationing in San Diego, definitely buy your gear in TJ.

It seems to me that it is getting a little tougher at the border and searches seem to be occuring at higher rates, based on my own experiences and observations. Things are different in TJ too, you see alot more police presence around the farmacias/graneros---maybe I'm paranoid, but it sure seems different now.

I got my car searched this weekend for the first time, luckily no problemas...

When you got your car searched, where did they look and did they take anything apart?
Also, on this board a few weeks back people got paranoid about the use of new x-ray machines.. Don't be worried I talked to this customs agent and he said that they ONLY use them on big rigs.

Just take the necessary precautions and you'll be fine. If you see someone watching your business a little too closely just return to that place later or go to another. At the border...if you look guilty you probably are, hence a secondary inspection. If you do get inspected don't freak out. Hange loose, it might just be that you're car is lucky number 10. If it's routine they'll just look in the obvious places (glove box, map holders, under the seats, etc...) Chances are if they pull out the power tools to take your vehicle apart you've been narced. Then it's up to you as far as damage control. As far as that isolated incident mentioned earlier last week, well, my friends have come across with similar loads no prob.

Of course I had gear in the car, what the hell else is there to buy in MX...?!

I'm on a mass cycle and I wore a tighter shirt that usual (don't do this, I wasn't thinking...) and he was checking me out & my girlie. He just asked for me to open my doors, and started rumaging around with a flashlight. I was just cooler than the other side of the pillow, offering help, making conversation,...finally, he got more interested in my girlfriend's legs and cleavage and started flirting with her and let us go. I did not get referred to the secondary search area.

He wouldn't found it anyway, unless they started taking shit apart, but it still wasn't fun.

Hey Pimpin,

I actually went to Veterinaria Quezada because they are listed on TTokkyo's website. I asked the girl if they carried TTokkyo Ox (I showed her a piece of paper with the name written out), and she said they didn't. What do you think was up with that?

The weather is getting warmer-----therefore wearing longsleeve baggy stuff may be a flag---though its better then wearing shorts and a tank top like I see meatheads wearing almost everytime I go over their. Did anyone read that article in I believe it was muscle mag or muscular development last month about this shit head getting busted at the border in tight shorts tank top and hot broad sitting next to him-----If someone deserves to get caught it would be a dumbass like him-----Not that I like to see anyone get busted for that but how dumb can you be. Here is a piece of advice when buying gear, tip the person who is selling it to you-----If your buying small amounts giving $20 to the guy wont kill you and may just put a good thought in the guys head-----You never know what type of bullshit is going on down their so why not try to cover all angles.

AZDave,
She may have not know what you were talking about or maybe they were sold out. There's a man who handles the AS there (second window) and he should be the one you talk to (his English is very good). They even have a price list, NEVER pay the price listed for a single purchase, he's pretty good about being talked down.

this has been my experience.. when walking across go on weekends when they are busy and with as many small freinds as you can muster up. when they get a good look at you they know what is up.
when driving i think those cameras you see when you go in to mex. run you're plates and how long you are down there. any time i've come back in the same day from t.j. i've had a little trouble. for instance one time while waiting in line i saw the agent walking up to my car and started sweating. he asked me to turn off my car and give him the keys. then he proceeded to pat down the sides and back of my car and asked all the questions. my next trip down i was stopped again. this time the guy had a long metal rod that he placed behind tha panels in my doors and in any cracks he could find w/o tearing my car apart. i made it through on both occasions but i would hate ti see what goes on in the secondary inspection(if anyone knows please post). be careful bros. late...

I get stopped crossing the border virtually every time. I've only made it across one time without being searched. I'm 6'4" 280 with really long hair so they always mess with me. Not fair damn it! Anyways, in the secondary search area they just ask you a shit load of questions trying to see if you'll get nervous. They do check out all of the obvious areas and sometimes will have a dog run around the car but I've never seen this rod the other guy was talking about. I always go to Nuevo Laredo, but the price of gear just isn't cost effective any longer. Except for the vet stuff.
