Nice Gandhi/Jesus like sentiment which might work on the romantic global mankind scale of things, peace good will and equality to all men and all that but bringing it back down to the everyday reality of life it's a challenge to smile forgive and forget if a being endangers your life or the lives of your loved ones. Byron said hatred was the madness of the heart referring imo to chronic hatred that breeds and destroys a man from within and that can be seen in people, hatred that becomes the crutch of every argument the reason for all the woe in their world.

Any man that says he doesn’t hate is a liar, love and hate, yin and yang they exist together and both have their rightful place. Personally I admit feelings of hatred towards people based on their stupidity selfishness and the complete disregard for anyone but themselves, why love such a person, I waste no time and effort hating or forgiving them.

i have a little "motivational calendar of the day" , i keep the good ones
-Life is like a game of cards. The hand you're dealt represents determinism, the way you play it is free will
-Taking delight in his own special kind of action, a man attains perfection.
-In walking, just walk. In sitting, just sit. Above all, don't wobble.
-Don't be guided by the sacred books, or by logic, or opinion, or by your teacher; when you know in yourself that something is bad, then give it up, and accept the good and follow it

but my favourite is still Mao talking against democracy
