Reality Checks, Ever Have One?

ever have a reality check, something that takes a few notches of pride from you, humbles you a bit, if so what was it?

not just lifting weights, could be anything.

If you try to keep an open mind and expect the un-expected and believe anything is possible

You dont have many, of course you will have some, but not many

Take life from the absolute rock bottom and always intend to climb & learn, given any situation. Do not ever take it from the other way round.

Reality checks are due to undercompensation and unpreparedness.

Only death & your mind can destroy your spirit.

Read the book of five rings.

Otherwise, daily life is a reality check unless you live in some fluffy cloud someplace locked up inside your mind.

Yeah I just gave myself one, I dont know shit about music and Im taking a music class. I hope i can salvage a B.

looking at gory websites keeps me in check each day. They remind me no to get to nutty, and that we are all very mortal.

You too, huh? No kidding. I'm a safer driver now because of those sites.

Yup.

I wonder sometimes if I lead a charmed life. Whenever I take things for granted, without fail, the Universe always steps in and shows me how much worse I could have it. Case in point, seeing an ex last week who hasn't changed in the nearly 7 years I've known him, except for a raging case of HPV and goodness knows what else. Big fat reality check.

roadkill...

not kidding...

it makes me wonder if god distinguishes
us from animals in the grand
scheme of things...

dead kittens especially...:(

I blew my ACL out, so surgury, hospitials, not being to do the things I love(like walk!) to do.

It really scared the shit out of me. It was so very humbling.

LOL. I hate to say "me too" for a second time, but....me too. I usually ponder the concept of a "soul" when I see something with it's guts splattered all over the pavement, or a big wad of furry goo that is impossible to identify. My little brother and I have had discussions on the subject while driving down the road.

if he's your ex of 7 years, how would you know he has hpv?Did he just come out and say it?

No, I said I'd known him for almost 7 years, not that we'd dated that far back. He used to screw a girlfriend of mine, who is now married to a friend of his. Over some wine and girl talk, his warty dick came up.

It just amazes me that the life lessons I know now, I could have learned in much, much harsher ways. Humbling moments are good.

Also, wrecking over Christmas break of last year was a huge reality check. The cop told me that if I had done something differently, I wouldn't have walked away. Talk about something I didn't want to hear.

"So many decisions, so little road."

Exacyly. Plus when you factor in putting on makeup in the rearview and trying to get the CD player to work, the road becomes one dangerous place for the fairer sex. :D

Lol. You know it wasn't like that Taps. Besides, we could always talk about when you decided to drive around and look for hookers. The cops sure noticed your driving.

had one today, was going home from work, the normal 10 minute drive took 40 minutes. It finally hit me that I had moved out of the small town.
