Rant: can someone explain white trash to me?

Okay, I should add that when I was first born - my family was poor, and was so until I was 22. The first 3 years of my life or so we lived in a trailer home. My mom for awhile was on welfare.

So basically, what I'm saying is that I grew up really fucking poor. So I know the wrong side of the tracks and have seen it all (hell, I lilved 10 ft from railroad tracks for 12 years of my life).

That said - I don't get white trash. In this category, I also include the nouveau riche.
Of that which I just mentioned, I would say a good 40%+ of the readers on this board fall into that category - and what is humorous is they don't even know it, or get it.

So if someone could just explain to me how these people get started - I'm curious to know.
I know that it isn't just the poor people- hell, there are dipshits on this board that think that money is the way to impress....

if someone could enlighten me - I'd love to hear someone's take on it.
I'll gladly partake in any discourse towards this.
 
White trash is state of mind. Not a state of finance.

I consider white trash to be inconsiderate, dim-witted Americans who take their freedoms for granted and refuse to educate themselves (either at the library or formally).

White trash isn't necessarily because you are poor... it has to do with behavior also.

It's the same as a Mexican/ Beaner, black guy/ nigger, white guy/ trailer park trash. We all have trash in our races. White trash just usually resides in a trailer. Nig's in the project. Beans, well, in canal banks. I'm just fucking around... but you get my point.

Hey steel - it is funny you pop up in this thread - b/c I consider you white trash.
Actually more on the nouveau riche side.
In fact, this post that you just graced us with kind of exemplifies everything I was trying to get accross.

You are so self absorbed that you don't even notice that your own post was the money thing that I mentioned. I've read your posts - almost every single one is about money - I'm not sure in what way you are lacking - friends, lovers, parents, goats - whatever it is, you are so blatently making up for it with money that it is a bizzarre cross between sad/funny/and oddly entrancing to watch - much like a train wreck.

It is people like you and others where they point to others and say "THAT PERSON IS WHITE TRASH. HEY CHECK OUT THIS CAR I'M BUYING. I'LL GIVE YOU $500 FOR YOUR BRACELET. YOU SUCK. I'M GREAT! I HAVE MONEY. YOU SUCK. I'LL BET YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY"

that didn't make any sense at all ... its beautifully like your other posts....

and I'm not just singling him out either - SB has a strange and fascinating following on the board that are as white trash as they come, and again, don't even know it.

There are the members of the board, and of the world, that are educated and live their life in peaceful harmony - and then there are the fuckers that are just trash and have ome inadequacy they need to make up for by trashing others... and this board is just a work in progress in enforing that.

Usually is someone who is overly prejudice, white, and for the matter redneck.

But, as code said, It is most certainly a state of mind.
 
The government even has a department for dealing with white trash. It's called the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, but it should be called the Bureau of White Trash, because if you've violated laws in two or more of those areas, take my word for it, you're white trash.

My recent visit to a water park is what really caught my attention, though. I don't mean to say that all the clientele there was trashy; indeed, I found quite a few young ladies who were extremely hot in nature, and I was embarrassed to be seen by them every time I disembarked from a water slide and had to dislodge a major wedgie from myself. (Some of those rides, I'm convinced, exist solely to give people wedgies. I got one so bad I could actually taste my swimsuit.)

But there was also an alarming number of super-sized women wearing bikinis. Please note that it was not the size of the women that bothered me; it was the fact that they were intentionally wearing extra-revealing swimsuits, as if oblivious to the fact that not a soul on earth wanted to see them that way. (Being puffy and pasty and forcing those around you to behold your puffy pastiness = white trash.)

I also noticed a number of men whose shorts were hanging down too low, showing most of their boxers underneath. (Wearing boxers under your shorts when you go to a water park, instead of wearing a regular ol' swimsuit = white trash.) (Making everyone look at your underwear, under any circumstances, aquatic or otherwise = white trash.)

Many of these men also had tattoos on their shoulder blades. I will not argue the merits or anti-merits of tattoos (short version: they're stupid), but I will say this: Why get a tattoo on a part of your body that you, yourself, can't normally see? It can only be because you want OTHER people to see it. "Dude," I imagine the person saying. "It would totally rock if I got this picture of an eagle carved onto my back so that every time I go shirtless in public -- which will be often, because I am white trash -- everyone will see it and think how cool I am."

Getting a tattoo solely for the viewing pleasure of those around you = white trash. I hope this has been informative. Thank you and good night.

He writes what they refer to as "books" - what is interesting is that you will see that you can in fact use your "MONEY" and buy said books.

I've been to WV many times (used to live in blacksburg va - just go over the mountain and you are there). I've met many bright people from there. two NASA scientists I met were from there. and at one time, one of the top guys at NASA was from the coal mining backwoods of WV - there is a book about it. I know the whole book thing scares a lot of people on the board.

Code is 100% correct. White trash is a state of mind. We rake in about 85k and I am a white trash mother fucker. I have more cars than anybody, most do not run. I have auto part all over the yard. I lift, run my mouth, get greasy and love it. Don't confuse my white trash talk with an incestious piece of shit, thats a crime against humanity, I just offend humanity. in all honesty, I was mainly just talking smack to get him riled up - he is insecure and does what he does due to that - if someone is like that, there are easy ways to push their buttons.

as for me, without giving too much away, I got into mensa, I went to the top school in the country, my stadardized tests are in the highest percentile (well, not the SAT b/c I had already gotten into school when I took that, it was just b/c I had already paid for it and they didn't let me cancel - I still got 1300 or so and that was before the inflation of the late 90's - I think that was in '96 or '97 when they made it easier to get higher scores).

as for what the books says - I suppose it doesn't matter much since it is technically just some guy proposing what he feels it is... but that guy is the top guy in the field and has been at harvard for like 40 years or some shit.

interestingly enough, there's a shot for some of the dumbfucks of the board b/c he rates body kinesthetics as one of the intelligences.

well ive always been curious about intelligence and the different levels of it. i guess because i was such a underachiever as a child and teenager. i often think about what could have been if only it wasn't for the outside forces (or the inside forces for that matter) that stood in my way.
but i read "for whom the bell curves" for a school paper and have thought about it ever since. its the old arguement of nature vs. nuture thing. which brings me back to myself.
and i want to find something to read on the E.Q. (emotional intelligence).
by the way what kind of I.Q. does it take to get into mensa?

i hardly went to school and when i did i tried to catch up on my sleep.
although i did eventually go to a community college and graduate.

only once? rock on. me too. also took the ACTs - they were easier - when you don't bring a calculator to the sat's, the stuff can get annoying - just takes more time to scratch it out.

I've said it before on here genius, but if it helps, go to us news and world reports and it is in the top three.
It was number one for years and just more recently, in the past 3 years or so has fallen.

It is harder to get into than harvard - and once you are in, it is WAAAAAAY harder - Harvard undergrad is a joke, it is easy once you are in. hard to get in though.

none of that matters really though.

what school did you go to oh great one? or are you still in school?
when did you take the SATs - depending on the year, a 1390 either isn't so bad - or it isn't so good. (I'll give you a hint - say a year BEFORE what I said up there in another post in here - then that's a better score)

doesn't matter too much - most people that know anything will tell you that the way they test IQ is bullshit - but if you want info, http://www.mensa.org/ will tell you all about it.
It is a pretentious thing and a way to make money in that people want to be in it. The people I met were boring and self absorbed.

And I don't think there is a set IQ - it is more a percentile of the population - and it is pretty generous.

as for what my IQ is, I've seen lots of different scores - the lowest is 130 and the highest 190.

and no, the web ones don't count, those are mostly bullshit.

Just to state for the record ('cause no one seems to have caught on), I think Smalls is truly classy that she compliments me after me giving her so much shit.

technically, everything except trailer park homes shouldn't be included in that list as the other 4 transcend financial boundaries.

anyway, chris langan (he has an iq of 195) used to live on $6000 a year. fuck, he probably looked up to white trash. william james sidis, the smartest man who ever lived (i think. 200-300 iq, spoke 30+ languages, went to harvard at 9, wrote textbooks on college level info at age 4) worked as a manual laborer & add machine operator. so no money does not = no mind. i

I never understood them folks on Jerry Springer. My pal Shep wanted to go on there seein' as how his girl was foolin' with some other fella. I told him how to straighten her out. Take her out in the truck, all romantic and all. Drive along and smile. Then shove her ass out the door, peddle to the floor. Leave her there. That'll learn her. Now did he have to go on that show to figger this all out? Naw. He just needed to listen to me. Folks make things too complicated.

You can pretty much tell who is smart or not by just
looking at their posting "mannerisms" so-to-speak.

However, inter-personal comparisons regarding
intellgence are doomed because we all pretty
much study different fields. Yes, some ARE
harder than others:

1. Math/physics/computers
2. Chemistry/pharmacology
3. Economics+Business

This is just for Steel beasts reference. Your "career" is
probably the EASIEST of them all. Frankly, in the UK
you only needed 24(out of 42) points in the IB to get into pretty
much ANY business/economics program.

Aerospace Engineering/computer science/theoretical
physics/Nuclear physics ALL START at 36.points.

AND, to get into Oxford/Cambridge they asked for 41.

And LOL HS, that book comment was funny......

Just to put the whole thing in perspective for
SB, I read on average 4-5 books a week
on a VERY WIDE variety of subjects.

Why? Because in the end knowlege is MORE
POWERFUL than money will ever be.

And, because I grew up with a genius mother who
finished high school at 14 and finished her
masters at 18.

So yeah, I guess she has high expectations...... :)
