Who cares? Taking a chemical supplement is no more cheating than eating extra food. Somehow people have equated steroids with cheating. If there was a food that guaranteed that you would gain 20 pounds of muscle and be a better athlete would you eat it? My guess is that if this food existed, our government would ban it. I see steroids as being no different.
Palmeiro is a great player, nothing would tarnish him in my eyes.
Also, I though the whole idea of this "Steroid Witch Hunt" was to save the children? Well, why not enact strict testing for High School and College athletes... which is not nearly as stringent as that for adult males who are in no danger from using steroids and should be able to make informed decisions about what they want in their bodies.
I would love to see some Billionaire come along and start a whole new athletic league for football, baseball track etc.. where drugs were safely administered and condoned. This antiquated dinosaur concept of cheating needs to go away. Those that do not use steroids are only cheating themselves.
