Life is stressful for me right now but it's SO awesome. We close on our house tomorrow! I can't wait. We start gutting the house tomorrow....the kitchen cabinets arrive on Friday. It's just a fabulous new adventure and I'm giddy!

I'm also feeling good because I'm getting a lot of praise at work lately and am managing to kick butt at school. There's a lot going on but it's worth all the work. I'm so giddy right now I don't know how I'm going to sleep. :)

Fantastic.......you will be broke for a long time while remodeling.

Kitchens and bathrooms are generally good remodel investments though.

I just settled with my insurance company yesterday for a car accident I got in fall 2000. So that'll cover the kitchen and bath. As this is an investment and we plan to sell again in ~3 years we know we'll get every penny and more back! AND our mortgage with taxes and homeowners is $100 less a month than the apartment.

You did well sweetheart.

Glad you invested the funds in a house. Many take to gambling or drugs.

I never spent a dime of my settlement on drugs or gambling but I would definitely do it differently now. I had a few good years though. Very good years. :)

It seems like most every younger person I've known who's ended up with a large sum of money has blown it on things that will not even hold the value at the time or purchase let alone earn equity. :)

True but having fun is arguably a good usage of money.
