He uses a fairly small spoon, so let's say each bite is about 8 grams worth of food.

This is of course 8.32 x 10^5 kilograms.

which is in turn 8.32 x 10^2 tonnes.

I'd say that it's more like every 1.427 seconds.

Actually I stopwatch timed 20 bites and the time measured divided by 20 was .95 seconds.

I figured it was a one second .gif file and the 0.05 was inaccuracy
