R-ala & S-ala

600mg of r-ala

not necessarily..
it depends on the person..weight etc and also how many carbs per meal
ie 100mg per carb meal (20-30g carbs) is usually sufficent without going into a hypogylcemic state

agree... but the above was a general dosing reccomendation per day..

if you will not statement made 1month ago.. since then feedback has indicated that lower dosages may be more than sufficient for some (particularly "lighter" women)

just curious, if i took too much and went slightly hypoglycemic, what symptoms would i notice? cause i've been taking 200mg with each meal, some containing only around 40 carbs or so. if this isnt making me hypo is it just because i am less responsive to r-ala than some, or is this some indication of insensitivity of the insulin receptors? since r-ala makes them more sensitive, and if the were already fairly sensitive, wouldn't that make it fairly easy for me to go hypo? or do i have this backwards or something?

are you male female?
im female and once i took 200-300mg before my post workout carb meal..it was way too much because I felt like faint..very tired and no energy.

i have 100mg if i have a carb meal of 20-30g and sometimes less (carbs), and i feel fine.

male

okay i didnt realize you were female, that helps explain the lower doses working for you.

i've never gone above 200mg at once so i don't know if i'd go hypo above that or not.

whatever it's doing its working. i've only been on it 10 days at 400-600 mg per day, and i've noticed some leaning out already.

just took 100mg r-ala post workout, with the following meal:

1/2 cup cereal - puffed rice, bran, seeds etc
scoop protein powder

plus

tinned salmon w 1/4 small pumpkin and heaps of vegies - tomato, carrot, brocc, capcicum etc

this seem ok?

how long does the r-ala stay in your system for? ie how long can i have the carbs for after taking the r-ala?
thanks

I bought what I hope is the right thing from a local GNC.

The container is labeled "Alpha Lipolic Acid 100". The only ingredient is listed as "alpha Lipolic Acid". These are 100mg softgells.

I don't see anything that says "R-ALA" or "S-ALA".

Did I waste my money? Will plain 'ol ALA be of any use to me?

?? on the product

is r-ala to be mainly used for cutting purposes.

i tried reading the whole thing and am tyring to understand. if it makes more of the carbs u eat go to the muscle. is it good for bulking then too?
