however it is CONJECTURED that after an extended r-ALA consumption biotin levels in the liver decline; the reason why I say conjectured is because the study was performed on rats
I wouldn't worry too much about it: bodybuilder's diet should be rich in biotin (eggs, meats, fishes) and you could always supplement on B-complex (very cheap)
speaking from human experience.. most people do need biotin when taking ALA or r-ala.
and the bodybuilders diet is not IMO rich enough.
btw- eggs are not a good source of biotin (even though biotin rich) as they have protien, avidin, that inhibits biotin absorption. cooking does minimize this, though it also destroys some of the biotin.
