Using the home brew, you can get some great results... but there isn't really a comparison to fina made from powder and fina made from the pellets.
There isn't really a way to filter out all the shit that is in the pellets... you may think you are... but you really aren't. I would suggest finding an independent underground lab that has that product on it's list and going that route, over making it yourself... it would be a far superior product and more than likely would be cleaner..
However, if you just want a quick, cheap fina product that will yield some fairly good results... making it at home probably isn't a bad idea... but the chance for having a polluted product is much higher.

Try Proline Tren(if you want pre-made), it's a lot cheaper than QV.
If price is NOT a factor you can't go wrong with a premade tren from a pharm grade powder. Its going to be a much cleaner product. Take a look around the boards people are always asking questions like whats settling on the bottem. Thee is this yellow gun, what is it? For some reason there is some red at the top, etc etc. When you get tren from QV or proline there is none of that shit just a golden oil with no contaminents.
Making it yourself is a great cheap fix and also a ton of fun but if price is not a factor definately get the QV.
