Quick question...

This is my first time in this section... I read over the sticky rules for you all :P

I'm 21yrs old, 5'11, just shy 160lbs. Currently training on a 5x5 prog. (50min - 1hr20min, mon, tues, wed, fri)...

I poped on to see what this is all about - and I'm totally lost!
WOW! i never realized the various forms of anabolic supplments.

I'm trying to gain some muscle mass (nothing huge or crazy), then strength, then cut (need more muscle to cut first though).

Can anyone suggest anything more than a protien to help with my build... I find it hard to put on size and strength.
I've tried creatien, might cycle on that again. I haven't tried (testoerone) Turbulex*sp, but i don't know how i feel about messing with my brain chemisty that deals with my balls :| (maybe i'm misinformed)

I'm looking for something extra... nothing illigal or too hardcore.
Can anyone suggest some products (with a very breif backgound would be nice) that I can do some research on?

ps - if someone knows a good place in Canada (Ottawa) or online to order some protien that bulk or less than crazy store prices let me know please :D
 
hmm... your test is at the highest its going to ever me at 21 years of age. With proper diet you should be fine, but like you said you want more....

Testosterone is the best steroid for begginers. ALSO dont combine it with anything as you want to see how you react to it alone (later on you can add something extra like Deca for your joints and than know which is providing the side effects, if any).

Make sure you have proper PCT to keep all your hard earned gains and have nolvadex or arimidex on hand for gyno and bloat.

I recommend something like 500mg test/week for 8-10 weeks

Well man.. if your 5'11'' and only 160lbs.. you must be pretty lean.. or not very muscular.. i'm gonna hope for the first one.. i'm 5'11'' myself but closer to 190lbs at the moment.. leaned out i would probably be 175lb.. anyway.. first thing first.. and i hated hearing this too.. but there's no subsitute for diet man.. diet makes everything.. i ate heavy and i got heavy.. i ate light and i lost weight like there was no tomorrow.. supplements only do just that.. supplement..

anyway.. if your looking to stay somewhat natural at this time.. there are about a half a million different things out there.. and no one person has the right answer.. just try a few of them.. i recently took my jump into the AAS world and have not once regreted starting them. If you do decide to go the roid route.. for a beginner.. it doesn't get much better than test.. the stuff's amazing.. just do a lot of research and have everything planned out.. makes all the difference in the world..

I personally love the AST line of supplements.. and their training ideas.. their MAX-OT program has literally changed the way i look and feel about training.. i gained weight and got ungodly strong just from trying their program.. check out their site.. www.ast-ss.com.. and read up about the max-ot program.. sometimes people who can't gain just aren't living heavy enough to produce any muscle gains at all..

These are the supplements I have used with great success.. and the ones that have done crap.. just to help you out..

AST MultiPro 32x Multi Vitamin/Mineral 1 morning/1 night
helps my overall health and recovery, this makes more of a differenece than people realize

AST Creatine HSC This is a killer creatine complex.. carbs.. creatine.. and other mediators.. amazing workouts while using it and great pumps

AST GL-3 Glutamine This stuff is also great but i think any good glutamine supp will work.. i just prefer AST from time to time.. this stuff after workouts and at night will give great results..

AST NAC 500 This is a sort of unheard supplement.. not many people have talked about it.. it's taken after your workout to help control free radicals and control post workout muscle loss.. unsure on results of this as of yet but so far seems to be working fairly well

AST VP2 Protein.. this stuff is amazing.. just a little too costly for my budget.. have used it a few times and made great gains.. far superior to most protein on the market.. worth a try for a while..

BSN Nitrix.. this stuff.. and i imagine most NO2 supps are crap.. you blow up a little while on them.. and recover a little better.. but deflate like a balloon once you stop taking them.. and you have to take a large number of pills per day.. no fun

CLA.. just about any brand is ok.. 2 a day seems to be a pretty good standard.. more studies than i can count lately to back this stuff up.. won't show immediate improvements.. but is fairly cheap and will definatly help

Health From the Sun.. The Total EFA Oil... this stuff tastes like crap but is more cost effective than the capsules.. get all your efa's can make a great difference in your overall health.. recovery.. and workouts.. this stuff should be taken regardless if you workout or not.. just to stay healthy

Andro products.. i've seen decent gains from things like 4-andro and the such.. nothing like the real deal.. almost not worth it considering the cost of both and the gains from both.. also considering they are soon to be banned.. if you are really thinking this route.. i would think closer to just going for the real thing..

well man.. that's my list of the supps i use on a normal day.. except for a few.. just to let you know what i've tried and has worked.. i know that seems like a lot of things to take each day but i'll tell you what.. i've never been and felt so healthy.. we were all in your shoes at one time.. and worked past it.. just gotta eat right.. lift heavy.. and supplement smart.. and before you know it.. you'll be 200lbs and wondering how you got there..

what is that you're saying to me?
And can you take protein while on testosterone (as you said don't mix things to get to know the pure effect)

PPL keep saying eat big.... How much should i be eating givin my goal and TRAINING ROUTINE?
I don't want to be one of thos guys who although is quite strong, is hidden behinds 120lbs of fat...

I eat pretty much only healthy foods, and try to eat alot - maybe i'm not hah!
I'll eat pizza's and pastas, and pretty much anything i deem heathly (likely not enough protien)
But i tend to steer clear from 'junkfood'

Now ulter.. i've read your posts on this board and bb.com board and respect your experience and knowledge.. but why do you feel AST is junk.. they may not be the BEST company in the world.. but i think they are worlds apart from most of what you will find in magazines.. even if you don't like their products.. their site is a valuable source of information.. the Q&A's with people that have degrees in this sort of thing.. and go to conferences and hear studies that we can not.. i respect that aspect.. and their max-ot plan.. albeit not really revolutionary.. is a solid plan.. and for a hard gainer is perfect..

now as for Volume DNA and ISO AGB.. i've heard nothing but rave reviews of both.. i think DNA is pretty new.. but if these two products are like the other products that anabolicfitness makes.. like Thermorexin and Yohimburn.. then i expect amazing quality.. they are a great company.. but they don't offer everything.. so sometimes you have to go elsewhere for certain supplements..

Best advice i could give you man.. is take what everyone says with a grain of salt.. myself included of course.. what works for one doesn't work for all.. plain and simple.. some people love companies that others think are crap.. but who knows.. just try out a few products here and there.. save up some money and each month try something new.. www.bodybuilding.com is a great place to check out a LOT of products.. not to mention good prices.. that's what i did.. each month bought like 1 or 2 new supps and tried them.. if they worked well.. i would keep them in my daily schedule.. anyway

You can and should take protein while on ANYTHING.. protein is a staple.. i don't care if your taking steroids.. or just a multivitamin.. protein should be a part of it.. as for the part about using nolva for bloat.. etc.. etc.. that is if your going to do a cycle of steroids... pct is post cycle therapy.. and it is for recovery your natural test and horomones after a cycle.. and it is critical.. there are numerous threads on this on this board and others..

As for eating a lot.. if you are not gaining weight.. your not eating enough.. if you eat clean and train.. most of what you will gain will be muscle so there is no worry about being like those overweight but strong powerlifters.. try adding in a meal replacement or just another meal somewhere in your day and see if you gain any weight.. like a pound per week or something.. 1-2lbs per week would be ideal if your staying natural..
