Quick question - propecia / Dutasteride

under

New member
I am currently taking propecia, would there be any dis/advantage in swapping to Dutasteride, i have heard that it may have better re-growth potential, also less sides. Would I loose any hair before it started to work whilst switching as well. Cheers

YES .. it does work better but it produces MORE sides ..

I've been using Dutasteride for over 2 years now. You are going to have natural fall out and regrowth anyhow, so don't get alarmed at hair on your pillow. All hair goes through re-cycling. Its only when the follicles go dormant that we go bald. I have found that it has helped with the density. I'm only sorry I haven't got my camera with me now, but I will try to upload photos. However, the sides include a drop in your sex drive and on a different issue, should you and your partner wish to conceive a child, its vital she doesn't come in contact with the capsule as it can harm the foetus (medical fact and on the product label). You are also not allowed to give blood for the same reason. but, has it helped to keep my hair intact, the answer is a resounding yes.

What would the sides be and how would they differ form the ones I already get from propicia?

As I mentioin my post, the sides include a lack of sex drive. You are able to get a full erection as normal, but it does deminish your sex drive and alot of the time you simply don't seem really bothered and as a result, you can go a little soft. This can put strain on your relationships. The more dangerous "side" is that Dutasteride should be kept a million miles away from a pregnant woman and you are also not allowed to give blood as Dutasteride can have serious effects on the development of a healthy foetus.
