Quick computer question

Friends video goes out
Monitor works fine on his laptop.....figured video card
He has onboard video
Friend buys a pci video card even though he has an agp slot
Plugged video card into PCI slot
No video from his or my monitor
Is there something that needs to be changed either on the mobo or inside the bios to make the video go through that PCI slot?

Try disabling the onboard video in the BIOS?

exactly...I may try to take the agp card in this computer and try the AGP slot but I'm not certain that will do anything

There may be a setting in the BIOS that sets which type of card to look for first AGP or PCI or maybe even onboard. Since you can't see anything I would try an agp card.

Are you sure that only the video has died rather than the whole mobo?
