to what extent will low levels of thyroid hormone, specifically ft4 and ft3, effect gains in the gym- specifially muscle growth-

i know that low levels of thyroid make it hard to shift fat, but will low levels effect muscle growth itself

cheers

I dont know, but my two cents would seem to think that low levels of t3 would be beneficial to muscle growth as it slows metabolism. Someone more knowledgable than I might could tell you more.

I'm not too sure of the answer to this either, but higher levels of t3 can cause burning of FAT AND MUSCLE.

which is why one would naturally assume low levels of t3 would be good for anabolism. dunno tho, could be more at play here.

it will slow your metabolism overall, but there are so many other body processes that rely on stable & proper tsh/t3/t4 levels

but for gains, how important is it-

my thyroid results came back low, but i wont be able to see my endo for another month, and im just trying to cheer myself up, saying that thyroid doesnt effect muscle anabolism (as ive put the hours in pushing tin), even if it does make it harder to shift fat and stuff with low thyroid

It's extremely important !!! The thyroid is one of the most important parts of the Endocrine system and it directly effect Test levels, Adrenal function, Nuerotransmitters, IGF-1...along with a grocery list off other things.

Actually swordfish says he has taken it at 25mcgs of T3 because it promotes protein synthesis.
