Question To UK Members

Hey guys and gals,

for the brothers and sisters in the uk, where do you get your supplements from? Where in your experience is the cheapest place?

for bog standard whey protein i cant find cheaper than new zealand whey

what about u lot?

You know I get Chemical Nutrition / Dorian Yates Approved at a good price through a distributer.

How much does the equivelent of a Pro Pep cost from New Zealand Whey. What is the quality like?

they do a straight whey protein isolate, 10lbs for £50 which is damn cheap bro!
you get 4 tubs n a box... it's got aminos and probiotics, tastes average and mixes very well
but i want something like pro pep, a blend... pro pep's got miscellar casein right?
how much do u get a tub of prop pep for?

Yep, casein and peptide bonded glutamine among other goodies. Im getting Peps at £20 ish (would be cheaper, but im a link up the chain and everyone takes a cut), so much more expensive. However, personally I would be hesitant about going with just whey without the casein, as it is in and out of the body so quickly so could be wasted...

post workout though you don't want a blend right?

Nope, not really, not wholly beneficial at that point, some kind of quality isolate probably a better solution and certainly not casein.

no, the idea of the casein is that it is slower to be adsorbed, so it is effectively time released. I think of it as a protein version of a complex carb. Casein has a lower BV than whey, but it is believed that this is compensated for as the body is better able to assimilate it given the additional time it is available (this is very simplified).

Post workout you want to get the protein in as quickly as possible, hence you would go for whey, preferably with some Branched Chain Amino Acids which are even quicker to be absorbed.

i'm thinking of switching to propeptide as oppsed to metrex protein + cos it doesnt agree with my stomach... erm how does pro pep taste?

they sell it at my gym for £1 post workout but i have pro recover instead.. maybe i should give it a shot one day lol

Pro Pep tastes great to me, go for the Vanilla if you like Milky Bars...

They sell Pro Pep straight for post workout? What about carbs?
