Question to all? Lower bodyfat=Happiness?

Hey all

Just curious to those who have been there, but does having a low bodyfat percentage make you happier? Im talking about 6% or lower, 6 pack of abs, piano key obliques, chiseled face, everything.

THe thing is, im conteplating if I should strive for reaching a lower bodyfat percentage. I still have a shit load of DNP (although Im going to purchase a Triax-like substance to extend cycles), but the thing is.....Im wondering if I should just maintain what I have (my bodyfat is about 11%) and gain muscle, or strive for a lower bodyfat percentage. How does it feel like to be ripped? One of my brother's also posts on this board too, and he says that he feels much happier being at a low bodyfat percentage..but what is your opinion?

This is my problem, my goals keep changing around too much ( I just point the finger at my ADD syndrome, hey,..I gotta blame it on something besides myself right? :)). One week I want to bench press 400 lbs and put more muscle, the next week I want to be ripped to shreds.

HELL NO. I will take being "bulked" any day my friend. I love the feeling of pure mass. I'm no happier than when I'm bulking. Acheiveing very, very low body fat is a grueling task that drains the body like nothing else. It takes the best of the best and the strongest of the strong(mentally) to pull this un-human feat off. I just finished dieting down though I have no shows until next spring/summer. I wanted to lean out now and "lean bulk" if you will. Took me 6 weeks to get to 7% which is far adequate for my purposes now though if it were for a show I would still have six weeks to go. At six weeks I am drained...Mainly mentally. I always have it in me to rip it up in the gym but I get severe anxiety while dieting and generally feel like shit while not in the gym. I couldn't give a shit if the serattus and intercostals are tying the lats to abs together nicely...I JUST WANT TO EAT and relax. This I can do while bulking. I' am incredibly strict with my diet, both bulking and dieting, so that's never an issue of weather or not I can accomplish my determined goal. But when I deit I feel small and inadequate. I hate loosing size and feeling so flat. I would rather feel massive and move the big iron. Dieting takes its toll on the body and mind. I love the look of lean but it's most certainly not something I would want to maintain for longer than I have to.

And yeh...I have ADD. I get the change of mind by the minute. Every minute my goals change...But I write up my menu and training split and stick with it...Which is much easier while trying to grow instead of cut.

it depends on what makes you happy

personally I hate it when I catch women looking at me, and hell some even have the gall to holler at me... the strumpets. heh heh heh
In the summer I like the lean look, but I'm up to 205 at 6% so I still look plenty big.

My opinion is that you are "happier" when you're bulking. I mean you can eat basically whatever and you are much stronger. I've gone from 224 around 13%bf to 200 8%bf. Dieting sucks, cardio sucks, loss of strength sucks. Having abs is good, but it doesn't make up for the mental and physical stress that you go through dieting.

I wrestle and when i have to get down to 2% body fat i feel like shit and wrestle like shit so ai say fuck it stay around ten and you will performe much better. the 2%-6% you will feel like shit and wont be happy

I'm at 8% and look very ripped. I have the sixpack and good obliqes. I feel like I can still put on qaulity muscle at 8% and get big while maitaining a bigger look. To stay a lean 6% naturally will be very difficult and you seem like you will get deprresed at a much lower weight. Just think about what you want to look like and not what other people think you should look like and you will be fine. :D

Dieting down does suck, but you dont have to be super strict to maintain 8% bf. You just cant eat bigmacs and pizza two or three times a day. Because dieting is so hard why get over 10-12% anyway? Use a little disipline in your diet and you'll never put on alot of fat. If you compete going over 10% is counter-productive anyway. What little exta muscle you may gain from the extra tonnage will be stripped of by the grueling diet.

Maybe Im on crack, but my bf% was at 6.5 for a good few months, and I loved it. I felt great, had a shitload of energy, and I have to admit I did like recieving all the compliments!:D
Maybe its just me........hope its not:confused:
