Question for the people with kids

Did you take a video of the childbirth, and if so what do you do with the video?

I mean, it's not exactly an after dinner movie for guests. I'm just curious as to why anyone would want to video it. I understand wanting to be there, but I heard this on the radio and they made a good point. What do you do with the tape, and where/who do you show it to?

Good Q. I don't think I want a videotape, but would like to hear from people who actually have made the decision and WHY

No, when my 3rd child was born, my mother was in there and saw him actually be born,
then, i was "accidentally" in the delivery room when my sister in law had her baby and i almost died. i almost passed out ........it was the most disturbing thing i have ever seen, i mean childbirth in itself is a miracle, but what the womans body has to go thru to get that kid out......amongst other things, is horrendous.

I apologised to my mother for having to watch that. I never plan on seeing another child be born. Im not dissing anyone else for doing it, but i would never watch the video, maybe after the child is born and videoing the baby being weighed and measured is awesome but the actual birth, no, i dont think so

I attempted to video tape my daughter being born, but when my ex saw the camera she started freaking, "Get the damn thing off me right now" With a string of exletives mixed in. She could have quite a temper at times. Will never go thru that again. So I put the camera in a coner of the room and at least I had the sound of my daughter being born. At times, I wish I could rewind that tape all the way to the fateful night when I stuck it in and planted a seed. Like right now, I want to choke her.

i taped my daughter being born, and when my wife goes out of town i watch it and beat off to it.

keep it on the downlow though, i think she might get mad if she found out :verygood:

I don't have an answer for you, but am curious as to why....

I used to work with a woman who took photos of the birth & showed them all around work.....they were very up close & personal photos.....ewwwwwwwwww

I did NOT tape it but was there from beginning to end. I even had sex with my wife to get her pregnant.

I`m not one to watch stuff like that, medical images on TV gets me changing the channel, but I watched the whole birth and it was really cool. I even cut the cord, which sucked because all the lights went out as soon as I did that. I CUT THE WRONG CORD!!! jk lol

I taped the first one, but not the second delivery.

It's not something we've watched a lot since the birth. It seemed like a good idea at the time. It is pretty cool, except for a few parts (of body parts). The best part is at the end, after the baby is out.

The second child came out so quick we didn't have time to do any of the taping.

I can't come up with any reason I'd want to tape the birth of my kids someday. No thanks. I don't even care if we videotape our wedding. lol I just can't see sitting home bored one night and wanting to watch either.

I'm with you on both of these, chica.

I recorded one of my children's births a few years ago. I showed the tape to her siblings and they were fascinated. Haven't watched it since though.

Taping the wedding has it`s advantages. The bride and groom are so busy during the entire thing that they don`t get to relly see what`s happening with all the guests. During the reception, you may not see everyone you wanted for long periods of time, sure they`ll come over and congratulate you for a minute but if you have a tape of the whole thing, you see everyone dancing and having a good time. You also have the microphone going around to different tables during the night to people giving you weell wishes on tape (when they`re drunk it`s funny).

It`s nice to see parts you may have missed during the whole fastpaced day.

I'm glad I taped our wedding. Raina, you're right, it might get kinda dull for you and your hubby, but your kids will cherish it someday.

i dont have kids, ive seen women give birth and there is no way in hell i would think about videotaping that, it would traumatise my baby knowing how it came into the world, i think i would video the bit when its out and they put it on the mums chest while they deliver the placenta, and then i;d keep the shot on the mums face

taping the wedding is WAYYY different than the giving birth video, i almost passed out..........wait i almost passed out at my wedding too......ok i see the resemblence:)
