question for the computer experts...

How do I make a floppy that I can boot directly to, and have a utility on it to format the hard-drive? What files should I download to put on this floppy, and anything else I need to do?

Thanks.

Windows will do it for you....it's called a bootdisk, which brings you to a mini-version of DOS.

you can format from there.

Thanks for the advice. I'm running Win2K myself, but want to make a disk for a friend who's currently got XP installed. Any problem doing this?

Okay, just looked up Bootdisk in 2K's help index, and it takes 4 floppies to do this? Isn't there a simple way to just put a few files onto a single floppy to accomplish the formatting?

use a 98 boot disk. u can download one, just go to google and search.
