Question for the Canadians out there

From what I've read, it seems as if Canada is a pretty nice place to live. If your insurance is payed for by the government, do they tax the hell out of you for it or what. I would like to hear fom people that have live in both countries how one compares to the other

Insurnace? you mean for health?

as for taxing it's pretty harsh in the upper tax brackets here... don't know the exact figures.

Its hard to say since each province does its own thing. In Ontario you get "free" health care but tend to pay more in taxes than say Alberta where you pay a monthly fee for you health care (around 40 bucks if I remember correctly) but have less taxes.
