Question for MR X!

Hey MR X! On one of my earlier posts you suggested I drop the wholemeal bread and eat either brown rice or wholemeal pasta (which I have been doing) on my bulking diet, just wondering if you could explain the benefits of doing this to me? Oh and if I was trying to get lean would I still be better off with the pasta/rice rather than the wholemeal bread?

The bread, even "wholewheat or meal, is going spike your blood sugar at a much higher rate and to a much greater peak (much faster); thus, it will cause a great fat-gain than for example wholewheat (meal) pasta. Overall, it's the GI content of the food that is the difference in the quality, that is why we qualify carbs as low/high GI.

I think you are NOT better off w/ rice, but pasta is a good idea when compared to bread.
