Question for Ex Smokers

When people light up infront of you do you still get a craving?
When you see a cigarette light up in a movie, do you still fiend?

and if not, approx how long did it take for those type of cravings to go away? Cravings meaning, to the point were it doesn't bother you if someone blazes up a smoke in a car you're in.

ill let you know. i havent smoked one since thanksgiving eve and so far so good. slight cravings randomly and yes when i see someone smoking it triggers one but theyre getting much more manageable. good luck bro

I felt bad for a month at least. I have to say it was like a year before I didn't think "give me one of those". My problem was when I was drinking. No drinking no problem.

I'd think the pole you still smoke would curb some of those cravings.

I quit 24years ago and still get the urge now and then especially when in a stressful time of my life its an easy thing to fall back on. Just like an alkie.

Tgings got easier the 6 month mark, I honestly am at a poinbt where the thought of one is nauseating.... but for some reason when I'm drunk it not only isn't nauseating but I like it. The thing that triggered me most was driking at first for sure, driving was differrent too.

I smoked for 18yrs. I quit in July of 2001. I had 1 real bad craving about 3 months after I quit. I asked a guy to bum a smoke and he said sure, but when he went to give me one he was out. Since then I've had zero cravings......

I haven't smoked in 10+ years, and the day I quit, they became disgusting to me. Itb took me a year of trying to quit, so during that time it looked like the most beautiful thing in the world. Now when I smell one it's worse than a fart.

I tried to replace the cravings with a new habit, so I took up frequent masterbation. funny thing though it's hard to spank the monkey as many times as you have a smoke. Besides looking like a tomato you stepped on doing it in public is not socialibly acceptable no matter how much people talk openly about it.

I'm lucky or cursed. Yes, I still want one ... and all I have to do is get a decent wiff of the smoke and I start gagging, coughing and choking. It's not faked. People standing outside of places smoking have given me filthy looks and I want to go back to them and say "look, sorry, it's uncontrollable, I'd actually like one ..."

You will NEVER stop thinking that you want one but as time passes it's more a whisper in the back of your mind, not a raving monkey on your back. Just remind yourself that the reason you quit in the first place wasn't because you didn't want them anymore, it was because you wanted something else, more, that you couldn't get unless you quit them (if that makes sense).

For me after that one craving I described on the first page of this thread, I've never had another craving or ever wanted to have another smoke...dont even think about it.
