Question for computer, more specifically laptop, folks...

Ok, so my laptop apparently has a bad a/c adapter so I have been told by a repairman. Anyways, I calls up Dell and they tell me it will be 70 bucks for a new one. Now I sure you know where I'm going with this one being I am cheap and always looking to beat the system. Can I get an adapter somewhere else for cheaper? Surely I can, since that is how it works with car manufacturers. Help me out bromans.

You need to find out what the Voltage and amperage is that the adapter puts out. Also, what kind of plug is it? Is it a circular one or a unique type connector that Dell likes to use?

I've had bad luck with buying computer parts from ebay. I had already found an adapter from a pricewatch supplier but I was just curious if anyone had bought adapters not from the manufacturer before and how it turned out.
