question bout squats

Hi. This place seems to be a helluva lot bet than other forums for having people with good info. So I was wonderin....
It's been years since I've done squats. I've never even tried doing arse to the ground ones until reading about them here. I practice doing them without weight every day or so for a few reps just to get the form right. My upper body leans forward a lot when I do them though. So is it ok if I'm going forward a lot as long as I don't round my back out? I was thinking that maybe it meant that I really need to strenghten my back and that doing rows, pulls, and chins and whatnot will eventually fix it. Am I right? Or should I just expecta lot of forward lean?

You should try to lower the positioning of the bar on your back. I'm willing to bet that you have it placed up around your Neck, right? You should have it resting across your lower traps, so that it is about even with your rear delts. This will help your center of balance tremendously. It takes awhile to get used to though, but considering that your aren't using much weight right now anyhow, it is a great time to train yourself to position the bar in this manner. As you get up in weight, you will find that you will need to use wrist wraps when placing the bar this low on your back though, as it tends to bend the wrists back alot. That will also take some getting used to. Good luck!
