Question about speakers

A friend of mine is looking for some home speakers. Tower or bookshelf. He needs speakers that handle 4ohms. I have looked on the net and in magazines. I called around and I can't find any. This is in texas though. Do they have 4ohm speakers anywhere?

4 Ohm speakers are for car audio. But they can be found. Or he can run the 2 8 Ohm speakers in parallel and they will be at 4 Ohms.

why 4 ohms? car audio is normally in 4ohms and home audio is usually 8 ohms. what kind of receiver/amplifier does he have?

If I remember this right, Electrostatic speakers are good for low Ohm amps.

I'd just do what 2Thick said. You are also able to run some commercial 8ohm speakers at 4ohms but make sure and talk to a knowledgeable salesman.
