question about seated dumbell cleans

i did a search but didnt really turn up anything. looked at the videos as well. are these used to rehab rotators? is there any transfer to the power clean?

They are done to rehab and prehab and strengthen the rotators, rear delts, and upper trap area. I think that they should make me a little stronger, or at least less injury prone, if I continue to do them though.

thanks. i did them after power cleans today with 25's for a few sets of eight, felt awkward. i tried to mimic what i saw in the asylum video, wonder if these could be done more than twice per week?

I do them 2x per week. If one was rehabbing their shoulders I'd think that they could be done 3-4x per week. 1 time hard, 1 time moderate, 2x light.

Example.
Day 1: 25's x 8 x 4 sets
Day 2: 10's x 8 x 4 sets
Day 3: off
Day 4: 15-20's x 8 x 4 sets
Day 5: 10's x 8 x 4 sets
Day 6: off
Day 7: off

This is just an example though...and all in theory.

so theroretically, these would not be an excercise that one could use to improve the power clean, assuming rotators are not the problem? i have tried dumbell cleans off the floor and they seemed to stress the biceps too much (probably my poor form). i will try the seated version three times a week along with a variety of pulls and see what happens.

Uhhh....

Dbell cleans, as I've posted clips of me doing them and as WSB descibes them, are not an extremely explosive exercise. They aren't done from the floor and really aren't much like the barbell clean at all.

I can clean some pretty heavy dbells from the floor to my shoulder...but I rarely ever use anything heavier than 20's for my dbell cleans for my rotators...

see what you are saying, i should have clarified. i did light seated dumbell cleans today, but have tried cleaning heavier dumbells off the floor (as explosivelly as possible) and they did nothing for my power clean. for some reason i missed the rehab and prehab part of your response. sorry.
