If the police search a car and nobody is there that owns it, they decide for whatever reason they have the right to search the car, and find illegal substances, what do they do?
Do they seize the goods and leave the car unlocked and just go on their way?
Do they wait for someone to reture or seize the goods and charge the owner?
Do they seize the evidence and have the car impounded?
A friend of mine believes his car was searched and some gear was taken because people told him cops were checking out his car when he was inside his apt. They made no attempt whatsoever to either secure the car, as in even lock the doors, or notify the owner that the vehicle had been searched. You think they would at least leave a note or something?
Thanks, bros!
